Both NETePay and DC Direct offer the option to prompt the customer to add a gratuity to the transaction amount. Note that not all options are available on all devices.

 

3 types of gratuity prompts are available:

 

 

 

Print gratuity lines on signature slip

 

This option is available for both PreAuth/Capture and Sale/Add Gratuity. The signature slip will display a tip line below the transaction amount. Note that the tip line is generated by the payment processor and not the pos and the Disable Print Gratuity Line option should be checked so that 2 tip lines do not print.

 

 

 

 

 

Prompt customer to enter the gratuity amount

 

This option is available only when using the Sale/Add Gratuity transaction type. The customer is prompted to manually enter the gratuity amount using the device's keypad. Gratuity suggestions are not displayed. Most EMV devices are capable of using this option. Contact Datacap or the payment processor to verify that this option is available for the device.

 

 

 

 

 

Prompt customer to select the gratuity amount

 

This option is available only when using the Sale/Add Gratuity transaction type. The customer is prompted to select one of the suggested gratuities or to enter the gratuity manually using the touchscreen. Most EMV Android or other touchscreen devices are capable of using this option. Contact Datacap or the payment processor to verify that this option is available for the device. Select the Display Suggestive Prompt option and enter the whole number values for the tip percentage. Refer to the YouTube video for a demonstration of this option on the Pax A77.
