Payment methods are used to settle orders and displayed as a list on the settle screen. In addition, the CASH, CREDIT and CASH BANK payment methods are available on the order entry screen.

 

 

 

 

Default Payment Methods

 

The default payment methods created with a new database are:

 

• Bank Check
• Cash
• Credit Card
• Customer Account
• Debit Card
• Foreign Currency
• Gift Card
• Gift Certificate
• Loyalty Card
• Manual Credit
• Room Charge

 

In addition, the following payment methods are used internally and cannot be accessed on the settle screen:

 

• Account Payment
• Add Gratuity
• Cash Bank

 

 

 

Each payment method can be edited in back office | settings | main settings | settle screen. The following settings are available for each default payment method:

 

• Description: Read only value that describes the payment method
• Button Text: The text that appears below the image on the settle screen button
• Button Position: Numeric value that determines the order in which the payment methods are displayed on the settle screen
• Open Cash Drawer:  When enabled, the cash drawer will open when a transaction is saved with this payment method
• Disable: Disable the payment method to hide it on the settle screen
• Button Image: The icon that appears above the image on the settle screen button. The icon is a single SVG path that is displayed properly regardless of screen resolution. A list of commonly used images are available below. To change an image, copy the path data, click Set Button Image and paste the path data.
• Image Only: When enabled, the button text will not be displayed on the button 
• Id: Numeric value used to query the TransactionTypes database table for custom reports

 

 

 

Custom Payment Methods

 

Custom payment methods can be created for specific requirements where the default payment methods cannot be used. For example, when using an online delivery platform such as Door Dash or Uber Eats, the order can be settled at the pos using a custom payment method for proper accounting and reports. Click Add New and enter the button text to create a custom payment method.

 

 

In addition to the default payment method settings described above, the following settings are available for the custom payment method:

 

• Currency Field Enabled: When enabled, a currency formatted box is displayed on the payment screen. This field is typically used to enter the gratuity or surcharge,
• Currency Field Description: The text displayed to the left of the currency field box
• Add Currency Field To Total: Automatically update the transaction amount to include the sum of the currency field value and the order's balance due.
• Text Field Enabled: When enabled, a numeric field is displayed on the payment screen. This field is typically used to enter the external order id or transaction id.
• Text Field Description:  The text displayed to the left of the text field box
